I/ITSEC 2016 Report (28 Nov to 2 Dec 2016)
The launch of the Titan Vanguard product at I/ITSEC 2016 was extremely well received. Our main presence was on our booth shared with Calytrix, which featured 3 stand-up Titan demo stations for people to get hands-on time with Titan Vanguard, including as a First Person Shooter. We also demonstrated a whole crew helicopter simulator with a Virtual Simulation Systems rear cabin with both M134 minigun and Rescue Hoist (both in VR with physical components) linked directly to a Ryan Aerospace cockpit. In addition this simulator was linked via DIS to three simulators stations on the Leidos booth providing joint training capabilities.
The Leidos simulators also ran primarily on Titan Vanguard, with various other software systems integrated for Command and Control operation. A genuine ZPU-4 anti-aircraft gun was integrated with Titan, including various sensors and functions, a VR setup with M2 machine gun mounted on various vehicles provided fire support, and a UAV flying in Titan provided video downlink. Some of this can be seen in the following video.
Titan Vanguard also appeared on other stands, including
- Rockwell Collins with their RealFires portable JTAC simulator
- Cubic UK in their distributed environment.
The show clearly demonstrated the flexibility and vast capability of Titan Vanguard for everything from large, complex air and land simulators to Command and Control integration and First Person Shooter capability.
